![]() Planning approval processThe project has been declared critical infrastructure and is being assessed under Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
Environmental assessment The M2 Upgrade environmental assessment was exhibited from 19 May 2010 to 21 June 2010 and submissions were accepted until 5 July 2010. During the exhibition period, 910 submissions were received. Three of the submissions were from government agencies, six from local councils and 901 from the community. The M2 Upgrade SUBMISSIONS AND PREFERRED PROJECT REPORT is available to view by visiting our document links page. The M2 Upgrade Community Update (PDF 2,022 KB) outlines the environmental assessment for the proposal to upgrade the M2 Motorway from Windsor Road, Baulkham Hills, to Lane Cove Road, North Ryde. The environmental assessment reviews the potential environmental, economic and social benefits and impacts associated with the proposed M2 Upgrade and identifies measures to minimise the impacts.
