Planning approval process

The Minister for Roads, The Hon David Borger MP, announced on Tuesday, 26 October 2010 that the M2 Upgrade has been approved for construction. The start of major construction is expected in December 2010.

The project has been declared critical infrastructure and is being assessed under Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act).

The Minister for Planning approved the project under the EP&A Act subject to a range of Conditions of Approval relating to the management of environmental, construction, traffic, cyclist and noise impacts. The Conditions of Approval are available on the document links page.
