Clearing

Vegetation clearing along the motorway is mostly complete. In November some clearing will be undertaken on the eastbound carriageway between Murray Farm Road and Kent Street pedestrian overpass.

The project team aims to limit the amount of clearing work where feasible. Noise walls

Temporary noise walls have been installed at various locations along the motorway. The temporary walls are located on the motorway side of the existing noise walls. The temporary noise walls are approximately 3.3m high and made of timber and steel. Once the temporary noise walls are built, the existing noise walls will be progressively removed in sections to allow for widening work to take place.

Where temporary noise walls cannot be constructed new noise walls will be built at the same time existing noise walls are being removed.

Residents in the vicinity of noise wall movement are notified in advance of any changes to the existing noise walls.

Construction of new permanent noise walls has commenced near Khartoum Road, Macquarie Park, Kent Street, Epping, Oakes Road, Carlingford, Mill Drive, Baulkham Hills, Hepburn Road and Yale Close, North Rocks, Somerset Street, Epping and Talavera Road, Macquarie Park.

Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)

The intelligent transport systems are being maintained along the motorway to ensure the continued operation of the motorway during construction. Installation of temporary ITS is now complete along the motorway. Permanent work including under boring and trenching has commenced. This work will be ongoing until late 2012.
