See below for further details. Access to the motorway will not be available from the on ramps at Herring Road and Lane Cove Road from 10am to 5pm on Sundays. Changed traffic conditions During the work citybound traffic will be diverted to the westbound tunnel under a contra-flow arrangement in that tunnel. At least one lane will always remain open in both directions. Due to the reduction in the number of lanes and reduced road work speed limits delays should be expected at times. Motorists using the motorway during the work period are advised to allow extra time, particularly when travelling westbound on Sundays. Work notifications The project team will continue to deliver notifications to residents in the vicinity of the motorway regarding upcoming work in their area. Hours of work are from 7am until 6pm Monday to Friday and from 8am to 1pm Saturday. Some work requires lane closures on the motorway at night due to the high volume of traffic during daytime peak periods. Notifications about night work will be provided to potentially affected residents prior to night work commencing. We are committed to keeping you informed throughout the project. Hills M2 conversion to fully electronic toll collection The NSW Government has reached agreement to convert the motorway to cashless or fully electronic toll collection on 30 January 2012. The conversion to cashless tolling has been facilitated by the Hills M2 Upgrade and will happen three months ahead of schedule. Cashless tolling will ensure simple, safe and faster journeys for motorists and remove queueing bottlenecks on the motorway. Once the upgrade is complete, the sign-posted speed through the main toll plaza will be lifted to 100km/h helping to reduce travel times on the motorway. Motorist safety will also be improved by eliminating the need to merge and weaving to cash booths. Cashless tolling will improve traffic flow on the motorway and reduce traffic noise impacts for residents who live near the toll plazas. During the finalisation of the Hills M2 Upgrade construction, a short-term, interim cashless arrangement will be in place at the main toll plaza and Pennant Hills Road tolling locations. Changed traffic conditions, including new lane alignments and 60km/h speeds will be in place temporarily. Motorists will be able to pay tolls using existing e-TAG and visitor's ePASS products, available up to 48 hours after their first trip, from www.roamexpress.com.au or 13 76 26. Further information regarding other tolling products is available at www.sydneymotorways.com. Traffic changes on the motorway and local roads There will be changes to traffic conditions on the motorway and local roads as excavation, earthwork, pavement work, median widening and line marking is carried out Visit Traffic Management for more information on this work. Please drive with care and follow the signs.
